Listen to different types of vacations
Use listening strategies of filtering information

Recent work: Students have finished the Grammar section in Goal A.

Students may have difficulty in filtering Information. The teacher may help them by
introducing listening strategies.

Pre-teach the seven types of vacation in the box in A.
Write them all on the board. Read them aloud and have
students repeat after you. Ask, What do you know about
this type of vacation?Be prepared to provide explanations
yourself, but most students should be able to express an
idea about each
one. For example, On a beach vacation, you relax and
sunbathe or swim. / On a cruise, you travel somewhere
nice on a huge ship. If your students hesitate over any of
the terms, prompt them with more questions. For
adventure and safari, for example, Where can you take
this type of vacation? What can you see there?
TASK A

Do this as a class-wide exercise. Ask about the photo
and confirm the answer.
